3 Easy Ways to Increase Your Website’s Conversion Rate

Whether your website is used to sell products, gain traffic or get people to subscribe to a mailing list, you can probably stand to increase your numbers. There are many things you can do to increase your conversion rate, but some of them involve a lengthy process. Here are 3 quick and easy things you can do to your website to improve your conversion rate.

  1. Use buttons as your call-to-action. If you have links as your call-to-action, switch them to buttons to make them stand out. Typically, a link will be underlined or the text will be in a different color, but these are very easy for a reader to skip over. And if they don’t see your link, how will they know to take action? Text links tend to blend in with the surrounding text and are often easy to miss. Instead of a text link, make your call-to-action very obvious. Add a “buy now” or an “add to cart” button to your sales page so that it is very easy for visitors to see where they should click. Also, place your buttons in a prominent place on your website. You want it extremely easy for your readers to find.
  2. Utilize your form headlines. Form headlines are a piece of content that are often ignored, but are actually very useful. When you install your opt in form in your widget area, you are allowed to title the widget. Take advantage of this small area of text to make your form sound irresistible. Do not simply use something like “sign up for updates.” What kind of updates are you giving your subscribers? What valuable information will you be sharing with them? Use your form headline to make it obvious what your readers will get once they sign up for your email list, and give them a good reason to do so.
  3. Use images. Relevant images are good for promoting your products. Instead of useless stock images, use photos of your company, your employees or the head of your company. If you are the sole owner of your business, you may want to use your own photo on your website to show your authority. Even on your sales pages, use images that are relevant to whatever it is you are selling.

As an online marketer, your conversion rate is one number that you should be very concerned with. Making little tweaks to your website can raise your conversion rate. Use these 3 tips and make the necessary changes. Experiment with them for a little while, and keep tweak until you find something that works for you.

That’s why it is important that you A/B test every change that you make on your website to see how it impacts the conversion rate of your website.
