Using Facebook Ads to Grow Your Email List

By now you have heard that you need an email list for your business. And you’ve also heard that social media is great for marketing a business. So it’s only natural that you should mix the two together, and use Facebook ads to grow your email list. Here is how you can do just that.

Making Your Facebook Ad

Create a landing page. The first step is to create a landing page. The page should get customers to learn about your business, but should also get them to like and share the page. Use color images and catchy phrases to grab attention, and add useful information to provide quality for your visitors. Add your opt in form in a prominent location so that your visitors will be sure to se it.

Make your Facebook ads. There are generally two ways that you can advertise your landing page on Facebook.

  1. Post a link to your landing page on your Facebook page, and then utilize the Boost Page option. When you choose to boost your post, you can select to show the ad to only show it to friends, make it public or choose to target specific groups of people. You will be asked to name a budget range for your ad promotion. This gives you control over how much you spend on your Facebook marketing.
  2. Create a Facebook Ad using the Create Ad function. You can enter the URL of your landing page as your destination. You will be allowed to customize you ad title, description and image. Make sure that your image doesn’t have much text; the Facebook ad team may not approve your ad if it does. Once your ad is approved, you can associate your ad with your Facebook page and get the ad on your newsfeed. Like the first option, you can define your target audience and chose your budget.

Tracking Your Results

As with any other marketing method, you will want to track your results to see what is working and what isn’t. Visit your page Insights to see the metrics of your post of your landing page that you promoted with the ad. You can also check the Facebook Ad manager to see your analytics for your ads. Lastly, you can check your own Google Analytics account to see if your landing page traffic is coming from Facebook.

You’ve probably been told you need an email list. And you probably also been told you need to be on social media. Mix the two for even better marketing results by using Facebook ads to promote your email list.
