What is Remarketing?

You know all about marketing your business, but what about remarketing? Google AdWords is probably the most widely noticeable display of remarketing. Think about it: how many times have you browsed products only to see those same products show up in ads on other websites or blogs you later visit? No you’re imagining it. Google uses it because it works.

What is Remarketing?

Remarketing is reengaging a potential customer through interaction, which is often automated. It’s all about listening and paying attention to your customers’ actions and then reaching out getting back in touch with them.

It delivers your messages, usually in the form of an ad, to past visitors of your website. It is a great way to target people who are already interested in your brand, and you can easily entice them using discounts, specials and incentives.

As you can guess, there are quite a few advantages of using remarketing. It’s an excellent use of your marketing dollars because you are targeting pre-qualified leads. It can also help increase your conversions. If you use a service like Google AdWords, you can choose which ads you want to show and on which sites.

Setting up Google AdWords Remarketing

If you are already using Google AdWords, it’s a great place to start remarketing. Set up a Campaign as you normally would, pick keywords and select a daily budget, language, location and ad frequency. Keep your ad frequency fairly low; you do not what to turn customers away by constantly being in their faces.

Next, you will have to create an Ad Group. You can have more than one ad group, or you can have one highly targeted ad campaign. Set a maximum CPC and click the remarketing lists tab. You can now select a list from your audience lists, press save and continue.

Next up is ad creation. There are many options, and the display spaces are varied. Pick a template and create your ads. Make sure that your images and content are relevant, and include any special offers to attract even more attention.

Lastly, you want to add any exclusions if necessary. Go to your Display Network Tab and choose your Interests and Remarketing.

Remarketing is a way to get more sales, by targeting customers you already know are interested in your brand. If you are a Google AdWords user, you can create a remarketing campaign to easily increase your conversions.
